Downtown Silver Spring isn't really all that great for brunch, which is a bummer because I LOVE brunch. I admit, I passed over this restaurant due to its unassuming presence and not sure if a deli like this could live to its hype. So one day, I decided to try it because I saw my fellow elite Yelper give this a solid review.
Came here on Sunday around 10am. They were busy, but move quickly to seat everyone and serve them with friendliness. They had plenty to choose from, but offered the basics as well. I decided on the breakfast quesadillas, which was amazing! They didn't skimp at all.
I'm so intrigued by their sandwiches and pickle bar. I wish I didn't pass up this place two years ago! I can see myself becoming a regular. I love that it's pretty chill environment and feels like I can come here either in jeans or sweats.
There is additional parking in the back for folks who are waiting forever for parking in the front. The dining room is in the back while up front seems like a quick food to order. I'm drooling to try their amazing deserts one day too! -

My go to spot to order from Postmates not too far from downtown Silver Spring!! Yesterday, I choose to dine-in for dinner. Parking in-front of the restaurant gets crowded, so make sure to go in the large back parking lot. Don't worry, there's an entrance to the dinning area. I tried their Beyond Meat burger, wow! It's was DELICIOUS, tasted and even looked like beef. Service was on point.
Towards the front of the store is a deli with baked goods, desserts, chips, and wines/beer/drinks.
Highly recommend this hidden gem. -

Preface: I had been craving a chicken bomb or chicken philly sub pretty much all day so I thought I would give this place a try given that they offered a 'Philly Chicken & Cheese' sub.
Upon arriving I was delighted by the wide array of sweets and snacks they had. I wasn't expecting a full convenience store/bakery/deli experience but nevertheless my mouth and belly watered for this sandwich.
After ordering and paying, I didn't wait too long before I was called to take my order. I swiftly ran to my car, embracing this glorious disappointment and after opening the two to-go containers I realized that 'cheesesteak' or 'philly sub' means completely different things to people. I was also really confused by the fries. They were actually pretty good but the appearance was lackluster and questionable.
The sandwich was everything I hoped it wouldn't be. Think lobster roll, a fat, fluffy sub roll, with hearty fillings, except this sandwich had some sort of pre-prepared grilled chicken and cheese half-way melted with rectangular sliced onions throughout. Now, the chicken Philly sandwiches I'm use to are NORMALLY made fresh to order, meaning I watch the chef dice the chicken on the grill or if the chicken is already cooked, they take it to the grill and add copious amounts of onions (peppers too but I don't like peppers). They then add cheese, let the grill melt it throughout the meat and onion mixture and then the mixture is added to a buttered/heated roll. I was expecting the sweet nectar of melted cheese, chicken juice, and onion sweat to run down my cheek but I was instead greeted by a thick roll (it was rather soft) and stiff chicken and cheese. Not only that, but this sandwich originally came with lettuce and tomato and mayo, all of which never seems to come on a true Philly unless you ask for it (the Philly sandwiches I've had never ever came with lettuce and tomato, ick).
Anyway, I barely made it through the sandwich, didn't finish the fries at all. Barely finished the sandwich because my total was $13-14 and I don't like wasting food (pretty terrible reason to finish something you don't enjoy).
I've said all this to say that if you love Philly cheesesteaks or Philly chicken bombs DON'T order this. And for goodness sake, avoid the fries. I doubt I'll be back but they did have a French dip on the menu so who knows.
The only thing I thoroughly enjoyed was the Crush Grape soda I ordered in addition to everything else. It saved the day, seriously... -

While visiting in Silver Spring a friend recommended this spot for lunch. It did not disappoint. The food was authentic deli and we loved everything. It is clearly a neighborhood favorite because they were turning tables like crazy and the place was full the entire time we were there. The corned beef was on a lovely rye bread the potato pancakes were hot and crispy and delicious. We had no room for desserts because we were stuffed but there were several great choices.

Love the parkway deli. First, they serve breakfast ALL day. They have a great carry out option, but if you dine in they have a free pickle bar. They have a mean BLT and grilled cheese. I've failed to have a bad meal here. Some things are better than others. This is the closest thing to a New York deli that you will find in the area. Worth a stop if you're in the area.
